Runway Blowout is an “As Seen On TV” set of hair brush rollers that the makers promise will get rid of frizz and give you volume, bounce, and shine as good as a salon. They claim it is an ion-powered ceramic brush that uses “nano-technology” to quickly tame and style your hair.

How Runway Blowout Works

Runway Blowout is a set of 6 round ceramic brushes (3 large, 3 small), 6 clips, and a removable handle. To use them, attach to the handle and roll your wet hair up in each of the rollers. Then use with your blow dryer. They state the ceramic will heat the hair quickly and evenly and emit negative ions, which helps make hair silky and smooth. They claim if you use Runway Blowout it will look like your hair was styled by a pro.

Runway Blowout Will Cost You

$27.98 for the rollers, handle, clips, and carrying case ($19.99 list plus $7.99 P&H). Runway Blowout comes with a 60-day guarantee, minus the fees and what it costs for you to ship back

Bottom Line: Is Runway Blowout a Scam?

Runway Blowout makes promises similar to many ceramic hair roller-and-brush combos. However, there are a few things we’d like to point out.

As we mentioned at the top, this is an “As Seen On TV” product. Generally, these items tend to overstate their benefits and underperform or disappoint in real life.

For example, as far as ceramic hairbrush/rollers go, it’s best to make sure they use ceramic plates, not a ceramic coating; a ceramic plating heats more evenly and generally performs better than just a coating. It’s also a good idea to buy a ceramic brush that also has tourmaline for even better results.

Customer service was unable to tell us whether Runway Blowout is ceramic plated or if it contained tourmaline. Again, since we know this is an ASOTV product and the price is relatively low, odds are it is just ceramic coating. (In other words, you get what you pay for.)

Also, we’d like to call attention to Runway Blowout’s Privacy Policy, which allows them to solicit you by calling you, emailing, or sending you regular mail about other products or services they may offer. They may also give your information to “reputable” third parties. (You may opt-out of these by unsubscribing and sending an email to web support.)
