Great for one.

I have the 2.4qt size and really like it for one person. Hated having to wait for my oven to heat just for 1 or 2 servings for me. Now I can bake anytime with less wait, mess and have my fried foods crispy with no greasy mess or clean up. I do wonder how or if even possible to get the baking pan for this size {2.4qt).

Power AirFryer

I saw the infomercial, it all looked too good to be true. Luckily Sams club sells this product which I purchased for $100.00 on instant savings. I tried Eric's fried chicken recipe since I have the 1700 5.3 model. I should have been able to fry all 8 chicken thighs. For the air to circulate properly, I had to do 2 batches of thighs separately. The recipe said to do 20 min at 360 degrees and pull out the tray every 5 min and turn chicken over. I followed the buttermilk recipe. At 360 deg it was crispy but very dark, next batch of 4 thighs I set to 350 deg, still too dark and didn't taste very good. They want you to dip into flour then buttermilk and repeat. I think I have a deep fryer at home and in this experiment, the deep fryer wins hands down. The AirFryer will be returned to Sam's Club tomorrow.

Fire Hazzard

I would not recommend this. We attempted many times to just cook French fries, but they never cooked. The last time we tried to use it, the top looked like it was melting a bit, so we unplugged it and sent it back. It always had a burning smell to it, like wires getting too hot!

Product is amazing, customer service is terrible.

The product itself is a 4 out of 5. I only rate it a four as the paint in the outer basket is chipping off. Customer Service at Tristar is a 2 out of 5. They argued with me for 15 minutes before finally stating they would replace the basket, but I had to pay to ship both ways, approximately $50 total both ways.

They will not refund my money after paying $25 to return the air fryer.

We did not care for the air fryer XL so did return it. Just forget getting refunded because it won't happen. They make it very difficult even to understand how they operate as they keep on switching from one person to another to supervisor to line is busy to just any ploy they choose to use. And being the holidays too, started the return in September and still no refund. Hey, maybe this could be a scam.
