MyPIllow states it is the official pillow of the National Sleep Foundation and they guarantee it is the most comfy pillow you will ever own. They claim this is because of MyPIllow’s patented 3-piece interlocking fill fits together like a jigsaw, conforming to your shape and cooling you off. To show you how much they stand by their sleep products, they offer 60-days money back guarantee as well as a 10-year warranty.
The MyPIllow Pitch
MyPIllow uses the support of the National Sleep Foundation along with many customer testimonials in an effort to convince you of its effectiveness. In addition to giving a better night’s sleep, they promise it will help alleviate snoring, neck pains, sleep apnea, fibromyalgia, allergies, asthma, migraines, TMJ and restless leg syndrome.
They also promote the story of their owner, Mike Lindell who struggled for years with the MyPIllow business, never giving up until he succeeded. Mike also touts the fact that MyPIllows are Made in the USA.
How MyPIllow Works
MyPIllow claims to have patented interlocking filling, but they don’t disclose what it’s made of. To use it, they instruct you to first put in the dryer on high heat for 15 minutes to fluff it up and put it in a 100% cotton pillowcase with an open end. Then go beddie-bye.
They state that MyPIllow will perfectly conform to your shape, no matter which sleeping position you prefer and last for 10 years.
MyPIllow comes in Classic (a single beaded seam in medium or firm) or Premium (has a 2-inch gusset and 5 different comfort levels), all in King or Queen size.
MyPIllow Classic is $44.99 and Premium is $49.99 for one, so long as you enter the BOGO code before checkout. If you choose 2 for 1, that doubles your price to $89.98 and $99.98 respectively.
MyPIllow comes with a 60-day money back guarantee; however their terms and conditions list a $14.95 fee for the pre-paid envelope they send you. In addition, MyPIllow must be returned in the original box or they say additional charges may apply.
MyPIllow is backed up by a 10-year warranty, which includes washing and regular use. They say if it loses its fluff during the next decade, call them up and they’ll replace it, again charging you $14.95 in fees.
There are also other products including pet beds and mattress toppers available for sale on their website.
Bottom Line: Is MyPIllow a Scam?
MyPIllow has some decent reviews, including KOMO News in Seattle who said that the pillow was indeed comfortable, but didn’t help too much with dissipating heat (they gave it 3.5 stars out of 5). MyPIllow has an A+ Rating from the BBB.
However, MyPIllow doesn’t fare as well with consumers, some of whom complain of a noisy, lumpy pillow with a chemical smell. There are also quite a few angry consumers who state they were not told of return charges and fees for not shipping MyPIllow back in the correct box.
Still, many people do swear by their MyPIllow and recommend it highly. Therefore, if you do order:
- Be sure to keep all original packaging, should you need to return it.
- Be aware you will be charged a fee to return it.
- Put it in the dryer for 15 minutes FIRST before using it.
- Remember, it’s supposed to be warrantied for 10 years.
