How does Liquid Hold work to keep my rugs from sliding?
Liquid Hold comes in a 12 oz. pump spray bottle of a liquid rubber formula that is said to dry clear. To use Liquid Hold, they instruct you to take any mat that is slipping, sliding, bunching, or curling at the corners and flip it upside down.
Next, spray Liquid Hold and let it dry (the time it takes is unknown). Then put it right side up and voila! They state that the molecular bonding technology will stick to the rug bottom and make it adhere to the floor without harming or leaving any residue. Liquid Hold adds the rubber coating remains flexible and durable, and is machine washable.
Liquid Hold rug securing spray is said to work on throw rugs, outdoor rugs, even bath mats and perfect for all floors including tile, wood, and laminate. They promise when you, your pet, or anyone in your family steps on it thanks to Liquid Hold, it won’t budge an inch.
What does Liquid Hold cost me per bottle?
Liquid Hold says in the commercial it retails for $10 plus shipping and if you buy one you get one – but HOLD on. The fine print reveals they add $6.99 in fees per bottle for a total of $22.98. (That’s $11.49 each but you must buy 2.)
Liquid Hold refund information
Liquid Hold is covered by a 30-day money back guarantee, minus the $13.98 in fees and what it costs you to send it back. You can reach Liquid Hold customer service at: 1-844-226-9162.
Bottom Line: Will Liquid Hold hold my rugs in place so they don’t slip?
Rugs are great for accent or utility in almost any room, but can be a pain when they’re constantly bunching up, or worse causing someone to trip and fall. Therefore, we can see the appeal of a product like Liquid Hold.
Liquid Hold is still new, so there are no consumer reviews yet but there are a few things we do know about it. First, this is essentially a liquid rubber coating that uses the same concept that a Post-it note’s gummy surface allows you to stick it to a wall without leaving any marks.
Second, in spite of the fact that they insist Liquid Hold is a revolutionary concept, there are several other adhesive rug sprays on the market. RugLock is one of the more popular and has a 4.4 rating on Amazon for about $40 for a 16 oz. can. Another is called Performix, which averages 4.3 stars and is about $24 for 15.2 ounces.
Both of these come in an aerosol spray and state they are water-based adhesives that are safe and eco-friendly. We called Liquid Hold customer service and they informed us that Liquid Hold is not water based but were unable to provide us with any further information.
Because it is not a water-based adhesive, it is likely to take longer to dry, and if you accidentally spray it on the tops of your rugs or on the floor, it may damage them or be hard to remove. While Liquid Hold may potentially be more durable, it also may have a chemical odor to it.
And let’s not forget the fact that they’ll keep $13.98 in fees even if you return it within 30 days.
Therefore, we suggest trying one of the water-based aerosols as mentioned above, or if you’re feeling really crafty, you can use the corners of an adhesive linoleum floor tile to keep your rugs flat.
