FlowPower is an exercise and supplement program that promises to give any person their best body possible by working out just 15 minutes a day. FlowPower insists their program is an enjoyable workout that needs no special equipment and is effective for people of all fitness levels, giving you maximum effect in minimal time.
How does FlowPower work to help me get in shape with just 15-minute workouts?
FlowPower is said to combine elements of yoga, tai chi, and strength training; they explain further that it fuses intense body sculpting movements used by top-level athletes with fluid “flow” exercises. They claim that by incorporating these different practices, your workout will be more efficient and continue to burn fat even after you are finished.
FlowPower states it is different from other “gimmicky” fitness programs because all you need is a pair of shoes and a few feet of floor space. They insist their workouts are challenging yet simple enough for anyone of any level to start using them.
FlowPower workouts are hosted by professional athlete and entertainer Jesse Liscombe, who says he developed the program ten years ago. FlowPower claims these workouts are customizable depending on the intensity you want and the amount of time you have to exercise. But they promise you can get incredible results becoming stronger, more flexible as well as lose weight just by doing it for 15 minutes a day.

Bottom Line: Is FlowPower a good way to get in shape and lose weight in just 15 minutes a day?
Perhaps. But there are several things we’d like to point out. First, we’d like to say that any type of exercise program like FlowPower can work to help you get stronger and lose weight IF you make a commitment and follow through with it.
BUT you also need to have realistic expectations. Interval training (meaning bursts of intense movement followed by a short rest or recovery) is a great way to give you more strength, improve your cardiovascular health, and even help with depression. But according to Livestrong, you need at least 300 minutes of moderate paced exercise to lose weight.
Then there’s the conundrum that exercise increases appetite, which can potentially offset any weight loss and the fact that losing weight becomes more difficult over time. The most effective way to lose weight, according to an analysis by The New York Times is to avoid overeating.
The main thing FlowPower is trying to sell you (because they will make the most money) is their Fatloss Matrix supplement powder, which they claim will help you manage the sugars and fats in your diet by absorbing them “like a sponge” and releasing them over time.
But what is in FlowPower is kind of hazy – literally:
This the photo on their website and when we called customer service they could not provide us with any further details. If you squint you can make out what looks like “dietary fiber 5.5g” as well as vitamin A. vitamin C, Calcium, Folic Acid, vitamin B-12, Zinc, and we see it contains Orange Mango Flavor with no MSG, but the rest of it is a blur.
A high-fiber diet helps make you feel more full so you potentially eat less. WebMD recommends women under 50 get 25 g fiber and men under 50 get 38; however they say it’s best to get your fill of fiber from food.
In sum, we say skip the FlowPower Matrix but they do have some good advice on their supplement facts page: make better food choices, reduce drinking diet sodas, eat breakfast, and control your portions.
Of course, exercise is very important in everybody’s life and the FlowPower DVD may indeed have some engaging workouts that will motivate you. Although they claim these workouts can be done by anyone, Mr. Liscombe has said he is marketing it towards beginners to mid-level people.
If you do decide you’d like to give it a chance, order the DVD, not the digital because in the long run it will be cheaper. Mark your calendar the date you order it for 60 days. Follow the routine and the dietary advice and keep your expectations realistic (most of the people in their gallery lost less than 10 lbs). Then, if you don’t feel like you are enjoying it return for (most of) your money back.
