Synagen IQ Core Focus is a supplement that promises to let you focus with laser-like precision on any task you choose. They also add that if you take Synagen IQ daily, you may have the added benefit of increased energy levels and better short and long-term memory.

What’s in Synagen IQ Core Focus that they say makes it so great?

They don’t divulge the ingredients of Synagen IQ, except to say that it is scientifically formulated to support cognitive performance in men and women and associated with improving memory recall.

They state that Synagen IQ Core Focus is designed to give you a boost of energy instantly and keep you alert and focused throughout the day. To us, that sounds like caffeine, so we called customer service and spoke with a representative who didn’t disclose the formula but confirmed that Synagen IQ does indeed contain caffeine.

Caffeine, of course, is a very popular ingredient in many supplements and beverages because it is a natural energy booster that has been shown to enhance athletic performance, and improve focus and concentration. A 2005 study found that fMRI scans of brains on caffeine showed more activity in the prefrontal lobe; however, there is conflicting evidence as to how long this lasts or how it differs from person to person.

Caffeine also has a few side effects that you should be aware of. First, while it’s not technically addictive like drugs or alcohol, you can experience withdrawal symptoms like headaches or have difficulty concentrating if you try to go cold turkey. These caffeine withdrawal symptoms have been linked to poor academic performance

In addition, having too much caffeine (4-12 mg per kg of body mass) can lead to jitteriness and anxiety. While it’s considered safe to take up to 400 mg a day, taking 1 gram of caffeine is considered toxic and 10g could be fatal.

When we spoke with customer service, they explained another way to buy Synagen IQ Core Focus is to pay $4.95 for free shipping, and they will mail a bottle to you to try for 14 days, starting from the day you ordered it. When you receive it, it was suggested to call the number and ask for an extension, giving you additional time to try Synagen IQ.

One day before this trial period is over, the rep said it is a good idea to call in again and ask to only be charged $19.95 for that bottle of Synagen IQ and see if there is a discount available for the monthly shipment.

Otherwise, if you do nothing you will be billed after 14 days from date of order for $49.95 and then every month you will be charged $49.95 and sent more bottles of Synagen IQ Core Focus.

Synagen Return Policy

Synangen IQ Core Focus comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, but they state you must contact customer service and get an RMA.

Bottom Line: Is Synagen IQ Core Focus a good pill to help me concentrate?

Synagen IQ Core Focus is a so-called “smart drug” – these types of pills are very popular in Silicon Valley as well as with college students or anyone else trying to stay focused and gain a competitive edge.

Except for the caffeine, we really don’t know what’s in Synagen IQ. And, generally speaking (except for caffeine) smart drugs have not been conclusively proven to work. An investigation by Men’s Health found that most evidence proving their effectiveness is from animal experiments or reactions in test tubes. While smart drugs are generally considered safe, side effects from smart drugs can include nausea, jitteriness, or possibly slow your heart rate.

In addition Synagen IQ Core Focus states (as required by law): “Representations regarding the efficacy and safety of Synagen IQ Core Focus have not been scientifically substantiated or evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.”

There is also no information as to any independent laboratory testing of Synagen IQ Core Focus so you can’t really be sure what exactly is in it.

Who sells Synagen IQ Core Focus?

We couldn’t find any specific information about Syangen IQ, but when we looked up their corporate headquarters, they appear to share the same address as Corporate Acquisions LLC, a time share resale and rental marketing company with a C+ rating from the BBB with a questionable reputation on the web. Whether or not these allegations are true, the Synagen IQ privacy policy states: “The company may use individual information for any legally permissible purpose at company's sole discretion.”

In other words, if you fill out any forms on the Synagen IQ website with your personal information, you may start receiving solicitations about time shares.

Synagen IQ alternatives

If you are looking for increased concentration and better brain health, you could simply drink a stronger cup of coffee in the morning along with a healthy breakfast of whole grains, avocados, and blueberries.

So far, in all our research, we have yet to find a smart drug that really works as promised. They all end up being very expensive and/or ensnaring consumers in sneaky auto-ship programs that are difficult to cancel or get refunds for.
