Review Guidelines

What Can Be Reviewed at BrightReviews.com?

Any product or service. We never claim to have used the product or service unless we actually have. Instead, we form our own opinion and observation based on third party sources and publicly available information at the time of our research. We strive to provide an unbiased and factual bird's eye view on the product/service. In addition, we provide a platform for consumers to share their opinion and experience, who have claimed to use the product/service or at least have had a billing, or shipping related encounter as a consumer with the company behind the reviewed product/service.

What Are the Review Guidelines?

Again, very simple – Do Not use profanity, hate speech, inappropriate/explicit content and most importantly, use proper grammar, your review must be helpful and relevant for others. Oh yeah, you also need to have used the product at some point or at least placed the order and have some kind of customer service, billing and/or shipping encounter.

Will We Edit your Reviews?

Sure, we might if your review appears to have poor English grammar. We try to maintain a standard in order to provide the most useful and relevant reviews for other consumers who are researching the product you've reviewed! :) But remember, we may only edit your review for grammatical purposes and never just to "rebrand" your voice. In addition, should their be any profanity or other inappropriate references, we will remove such foul language and replace it with something family friendly.

Will All Reviews submitted by Users get published?

Our staff reviews every review that comes in manually using an undisclosed proprietary process to help validate authenticity of the review. As such, not all reviews will be published on BrightReviews submitted by users. Here are the following reasons as to why not all reviews which are submitted by individuals to BrightReviews.com will be published at all times:

  1. The individual who submitted the review claims to have not used the product/service and/or nor has that he/she even had an encounter with the company involving customer service, billing, shipping, etc. Instead they are just stating their opinion.
  2. During the manual review process of each submitted review on BrightReviews, should the review appear to be non-genuine (such as artificially boosting a product's rating artificially), the review will not be published. Per our observation and opinion, unfortunately a common practice companies or their hired third party reputation management companies resort to are submitting non-genuine reviews on various third party review websites.
  3. The review submitted is of extremely poor English and grammar that it's extremely difficult to make out what the review is trying to convey.
  4. The review is completely irrelevant, inappropriate and appears to have ulterior motives other than sharing the consumer's personal experience with the product/service.
  5. A user submited submitted more than one review. We will only publish one review per user for a single product/service. If the user wishes to update his/her review, they can contact us via our contact form or directly at hello@brightreviews.com

Overall, using our undisclosed process which assists us in evaluating reviews, in conjunction with our judgment on a case-by-case basis, we reserve the right not to publish reviews that appear to have ulterior motives other than the consumer sharing his/her personal experience & encounter with the product, service and company.

In addition, we reserve the right to go back and take down a review even after it has been published should we come across additional evidence and conclusions that it may not be genuine.

How Does BrightReviews.com Make Money?

BrightReviews.com only utilizes Google Adsense and Media.net advertisement networks to display ads on the website. Media.net & Google AdSense both use undisclosed proprietary algorithms to display contextual ad content for the visitors on BrightReviews.com and determine its Cost-Per-Click. As such, BrightReviews.com has no control over what ads appear and in no way encourages its visitors to click on any ad. If user enters any URLs on BrightReviews, should they wish to click on an ad based on their interest/relevance, they can do so and BrightReviews will earn an amount. BrightReviews.com complies with all of Google AdSense's and Media.Net's quality guidelines to ensure that everything is done on integrity.

Besides the two advertising networks described above, no pages on BrightReviews.com have ever monetized through other means including product/affiliate sales. Should other means of monetization be implemented on BrightReviews.com, we will absolutely remain transparent and disclose it to our readers immediately. However, at this time, money is only generated via Google Adsense & Media.net ads.

Does BrightReviews.com Promote any products and services?

Absolutely not. We provide unbiased observations based on opinion that we form from research utilizing publicly available information at the time of the research. After we add a product/service to BrightReviews with its article, only then can people who have claimed to use the product leave their personal opinion based on their personal experience with the product or company. It is not in our interest to promote or demote any products on BrightReviews.com. Our sole income source, Adsense and Media.net does not rely on any type of rating on any of the products or services listed here on BrightReviews. As described above, the ad inventory is controlled by Media.net's and Google AdSense' undisclosed algorithm outside the control of any webmaster/publisher. The rating of any product/service on BrightReviews does not affect the ad inventory displayed and its associated cost-per-clicks.
