Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop sold by Telebrands is a mop with a round, rotaing head that promises it’s the last one you will ever own. Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop says this is because it’s got an extra long handle, a mop head that’s 30% wider, uses technology that sucks out the dirt quickly, and is guaranteed for 10 years.

What’s so hot about Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop that will keep my floors so clean?

Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop is a mop and a bucket with a twist, or should we say, a spin. For the round mop, they claim it is made of a microfiber material whose rotating head allows you to glide it across baseboards and floors, picking up dirt and debris along the way with ease. They state the spinning centrifuge in the bucket lets you quickly rinse and dry the mop with just a couple of pushes.

Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop also claims it’s better than a traditional mop and bucket system because its round head is 30% bigger, holds 10x its weight in water, and has an extra long handle made of a “super light alloy” for hard-to-reach areas. However, they don’t provide any specific dimensions of the mop or the bucket and customer service had no further info when we called.

Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop bucket comes with a splash guard and the mop’s removable head is machine washable and said to be good for hundreds of uses. They add not only can you use it to mop but also to clean, polish, or dust.

What does it cost me to buy Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop floor cleaning device?

Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop comes with a mop, a washer/dryer bucket, and a Power Pac that they say lets you clean a variety of surfaces.

Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop has 2 different offers on the infomercial and website: you can buy one for $39.98 plus $12.99 shipping and handling or they’ll double the offer for another $19.99 in fees.

Is there any guarantee for Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop?

Yes. They have both a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee as well as a 10 year guarantee. The 100% Satisfaction Guarantee translates into a chance to try Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop for 30 days. If you don’t like it, you can return it but they’ll keep the $12.99 in shipping fees and if you ordered 2 of them, they’ll keep that $19.99 fee, too. (You also need to include a written explanation with your return as to why you didn’t like it.)

Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop is also guaranteed for 10 years, but specific details on this offer were not listed and customer service had no further information.

Bottom Line: Is Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop the best spinning mop I can buy to clean my floors?

Probably not. We say this for a couple of reasons. First, we don’t really know how much water the bucket holds, the diameter of the mop head, or the length of the handle.

Also, we can see from the commercial that the mop bucket doesn’t have a separate chamber for dirty water. This means every time you spin it clean, the dirt will go back into the main bucket.

We’d also like to point out that Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop is hardly the only spinning mop in the marketplace. In fact, we’ve reviewed the Big Boss Insta Mop (which has a separate dirty water compartment) as well as the very similar sounding Hurricane Twin Spin Mop. The latter is also sold by Telebrands and has nearly the same features as the Hurricane Lightning Spin Mop.

While Hurricane Twin Spin Mop has a 3.5 average rating, Pattie Skolsen from Arizona writes:

“My daughter and I got this cool mop and bucket. We read the directions to put the mop handle together but hers fell apart and didn't stay together. Mine stayed together for 8 months and now all of a sudden the handle came off. I cannot get it back on and it is a problem to mop. We both have college degrees and understand how to put the mop together but it isn't the highest grade quality of aluminum and seems to bend as it mops. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy.”

A detailed YouTube review of spin mops done by Rachel’s Review puts the Hurricane Mop at #5 with the #1 choice being Mopnado, which also bills itself as the last mop you’ll ever need.
