The Credit Solution Program is a series of videos and eBooks created and hosted by Mike Roberts, who promises reading them and following his instructions will allow you to repair your damaged credit. Mike insists that his system is engaging, easy to understand, and will help you change your credit score (and your life) for the better.

The Credit Solution Program Pitch

The Credit Solution Program website is designed to draw you in with interactive surveys, free videos, and lots of long form content, much of which is free. Why would they give you all this information for free? They want your email so they sell you more products and offers directly to your inbox.

Many marketers know that long-form content not only does well in the search engines, but also tends to draw in consumers, slowly building trust, and finally giving them a psychological push to click “buy.”

What Is The Credit Solutions Program Selling?

Because there is so much information on the website, it can be somewhat difficult to even figure out what Mike Roberts and his Credit Solutions Program are actually selling, besides something to do with fixing your credit. Essentially, they claim the Credit Solution Program will:

Train you on the importance of credit. (You probably know the answer to this one already: you need credit to buy stuff like houses or cars. Bad credit = bad interest rate).

Understand what factors affect your credit score. (FICO lays it out for you here: length of credit history (15%) type of credit (10%) new credit (10%) payment history (35%) and amount owed (30%).

Learn how to interpret your credit report. (Bank of America has a free article entitled How To Read Your Credit Report).

How to regain control of finances. (Hint: analyze your spending, see where you can cut back, give yourself an allowance, as outlined in this article in Forbes).

Shape your actions to keep your score up. (Again, here are some quick tips: don’t buy anything you can’t afford, pay your debts, don’t be late on payments. Wells Fargo Bank offers more advice here.)

In other words, much of what they claim you can learn from the Credit Solutions Program seems to be advice that you may be able to be find elsewhere for free. Credit Solution Program does not fix your bad credit for you – it only gives you information as how to do it yourself.

The Credit Solution Program Fine Print

We’d also like to point out the fine print you may have missed. Some highlights:

“Your results may vary, and you may not get any results at all… Results will be dependent on your individual effort… your ability to avoid late payments, your ability to keep credit card balances low, your individual credit history, your negotiating skills, and your persistence…. The information provided on this site should not be taken as legal advice… We do not provide “credit repair” services or personal advice or assistance regarding “rebuilding” or “improving” your credit score, credit report or credit rating…”

The Credit Solution Program Costs

$97 for 5 eBooks. Credit Solution Program also offers you a copy of your credit report for $1, which you must pay for using a credit card. From there, you are automatically enrolled in a monthly identity theft program for $29.95.

Credit Solution Program offers a 90-day money back guarantee for their products.

Bottom Line: Will The Credit Solution Program Help Me With Bad Credit?

The Credit Solution Program may indeed offer you actionable advice as to how to repair your credit. We like that their privacy policy promises to not give your information to others and their 90-day no-questions-asked return policy.

However, we’d like to again point out that a) you must do all the credit repair work yourself and b) most of this information is available online for free.

For example, by law every US citizen is allowed one free credit report per year, which can be obtained here: Annualcreditreport.com

If you still can’t find the information you need and Credit Solution Program sounds appealing, be sure to keep an eye on your monthly credit card bill, cancel any unwanted subscriptions quickly, and remember you have 90 days to get your money back if you are not satisfied.
